The sixth Marine Scientific and Technological Commercialization Fair was held in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, from Nov 1 to 3, with 17 marine-related project deals signed at the fair, bringing in 3.64 billion yuan ($517.92 million) in investment.
The fair, held annually in Xiamen since 2014, has grown into an important platform for deepening cooperation among governments, research institutions, and universities. Since 2014, it has facilitated the signing of 141 project deals with a total combined investment of 4.94 billion yuan.
This year's event, attended by more than 110 enterprises and public institutions from across the world, showcased the latest high-tech marine products, including marine biomedicine, high-end marine equipment, marine culture, and high-end coastal tourism.

More than 20 public service platforms for the marine industry were promoted at the fair, and an exhibition hall for high-tech marine achievements was established as well, displaying some of the latest research undertaken by colleges, universities, and scientific research institutions in Xiamen. The event boosted the commercialization of scientific and technological findings and promoted the transformation and upgrading of the marine industry.
Two matchmaking meetings between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) were also held, focusing on things like fish seeds, healthful aquaculture, and smart ocean technology. The fair is expected to expand marine industry cooperation between China and ASEAN and promote the international expansion of Fujian's marine industry.
