An Indonesian culture festival took place in Xiamen's Huaqiao University (HQU), East China's Fujian province on May 26. Nearly 1,000 foreign students from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative participated in the festival.

The event was co-organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and the Chinese Language and Culture College of Huaqiao University.

"It took three months for the Indonesian students in Xiamen to prepare the event," said an Indonesian student.

Activities such as folk dances, music performances, martial arts, poetry recitation and traditional games were held to showcase the folk customs of Indonesia.

The festival also included a food bazaar featuring a variety of Asian food.

The Chinese Language and Culture College of Huaqiao University has been attaching great importance to the promotion of traditional Asian culture recently.

In addition to the Indonesian culture festival, the school also planned a series of activities for the Loi Krathong Festival in Thailand, the Southeast Asian Water-Splashing Festival and many more.
