Two containers from Keelong in Taiwan arrived at Xiamen International Cruise Terminal via the "COSCO Star" passenger/cargo ro-ro vessel on Aug 12.
The containers transited in Xiamen for Tashkent in Uzbekistan via the China (Xiamen)-Central Asia freight train on Aug 13, marking the first departure of the Keelong–Xiamen–Uzbekistan sea-railway combined transportation.
The containers are expected to arrive in Tashkent in 15 days.
The China (Xiamen)-Central Asia freight train connects with Kaohsiung port and Keelong port in Taiwan and Ho Chi Minh port in Vietnam via the combined international sea-railway transportation network.
Statistics showed that in July, the customs office in Xiamen's Haicang district supervised 22 China (Xiamen)-Europe freight trains with 1,556 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), at a total value of $82.64 million.
