A delegation from the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Office in Indonesia came to Xiamen in East China's Fujian province on July 31.
Sherly Yuliana, director of international marketing for the Jakarta office, said at a promotional event for the city's culture and tourism that Jakarta, as Indonesia's administrative, trade, business and economic hub, is a city full of vitality and glamour.
She also introduced the city's culture and heritage, shopping, golf courses, and spa services to the attendees. "It is our sincere hope that the promotional event will strengthen cultural and economic links between Jakarta and Xiamen."
Jakarta will host a fashion festival, a food festival and many other events in August, according to Yuliana.
At present, China is Indonesia's largest source of inbound tourists, accounting for 20 percent of the total foreign tourists to the country. In 2018, Jakarta's tourism revenue reached 57 trillion rupiah ($4 billion) and is expected to grow in the coming years.
