Xiamen FTZ takes lead in business service innovation

Eleven innovative measures rolled out by the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone (XMFTZ) were identified as national pioneering practices, according to a recent announcement by the Fujian provincial authorities.
The 11 measures, which were selected from among a total of 24 measures that were recently rolled out in the XMFTZ, included offering access to Taiwan investors in local the architecture market, tax payments based on facial recognition and real-name authentication technology, easier clearance of food for ships, an app designed for mobile supervision of bonded warehouses, online examination and approval based on an enterprise resource planning system for goods entitled to duty exemption or reduction.
The innovative practices also cover delivery platform, equity trading services for Taiwan-funded enterprises, an electronic power supply service system, reform of the professional ranks and titles of aeronautical maintenance staff, the dual-investigation of tax-related cases and the improvement of online communication between banks and tax authorities via WeChat.
The XMFTZ has been optimizing its business environment by innovating its systems and mechanisms since its establishment more than four years ago.
It has put forward more than 390 innovative measures to develop itself into a national pilot platform of reform and innovation, 74 of which have been identified as the first of their kind in the country.
