Xiamen University in East China's Fujian province recently held a photography exhibition for its foreign students.

The exhibition was an extension of the photography competition for foreign students at Xiamen University. Since the start of the competition last year, more than 400 photos created by foreign students from over 30 countries have been collected.

The works reflect students' feelings toward the rich natural scenery and cultural landscape of Xiamen, as well as their love for Chinese culture and their alma mater.

During the opening ceremony of the exhibition, William N. Brown, a teacher of the Overseas Education College of Xiamen University, talked about the story of his journey to Xiamen.

"Xiamen University was the first university in China to accept foreigners to study Chinese in the 1980s. Through learning Chinese, I fell in love with Xiamen and Fujian," said Brown.

Besides teaching, Brown is also a photography enthusiast. Over the past 30 years, he has captured the cultural and natural landscapes around China with more than 40,000 photos.

He was extremely impressed by the works at the exhibition.
