Two giant auto roll-on-roll-off LNG vessels, each of which boasts 7,500 parking spaces, were given names — Siem Confucius and Siem Aristotle — last Friday in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province.

The vessels were co-manufactured by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd and Siem Car Carriers.

"Fueled with liquefied natural gas, each ship has safety features, is environmental friendly and energy-saving," said Li Zhenjun, vice general manager of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Co Ltd, the parent company of Xiamen Shipbuilding.

Measuring 199.9 meters in length, 38 meters wide and 14.8 meters deep, each ship is designed with 13-story car decks which can offer 7,500 parking spaces, making it the largest auto roll-on-roll-off LNG vessel in the world.
