The new Beijing Daxing International Airport officially went into use on Sept 25, according to officials.

Xiamen Airlines flight MF8866 -- along with flagship planes of other six airlines -- took off from Daxing airport on the first day of the airport's operation.

According to a spokesman of Xiamen Airlines, Xiamen Airlines will transfer its whole services to Daxing airport in March 2020, after which it will no longer fly to Beijing Capital International Airport.

After the transfer, Xiamen Airlines will operate 56 flights daily at Daxing airport in summer season and 66 flights daily in winter season.

They will cover 20 destinations including Xiamen, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao, the spokesman added.
