With a forest coverage rate of 93 percent, Jinguang Lake Ecotourism Area in Xiamen, eastern Fujian province, is a perfect choice for a summer getaway.

Wandering through the lush forests, you might come across trickling streams, turbulent waterfalls, exotic tribes or unique tree houses.

Not exciting enough for you? Then try the single-plank bridge. It's the longest of its kind in southeastern Fujian.

Of course, you can't leave the park without getting wet. Activities designed to do just that are held every day during the season. Bring your water gun and join the water fight. The excitement is sure to wash away any stress or tiredness you might be feeling.

You might also want to spend a night in one of the many wooden houses in the natural refuge.
