Xiamen carries out 94 projects in Q2

Xiamen in East China's Fujian province held a commencement ceremony on April 25, kicking off its major projects for the second quarter of 2019. 

The 94 projects, distributed across the city, have all grabbed funding of over 50 million yuan ($7.4 million), realizing an aggregated investment of 68.2 billion yuan and a yearly total follow-up investment of 16.4 billion yuan. 

The projects are a reflection of Xiamen government's determination to speed up development and yield tangible results. The city has seen 178 projects start construction in the first quarter of this year, which has infused momentum into local industrial transformation, environmental optimization, and people's well-being. 

Forty-two of the projects focus on industry, 31 are on infrastructure, and the rest of the 21 are connected with social well-being. They are all of high quality and efficiency, have good social benefits, and will drive the development of other related fields.

The OGAWA Mansion, located on the Qianpu Rd in Siming district, is a highlight among the projects. The edifice, designed to be the global research and marketing center of the health tech company, will attract a total investment of 688 million yuan ($102 million), with 280 million yuan having been utilized at this time. 

The transformation and upgrading project of Xueling, a shabby village in Huli district, will draw an aggregated investment of 7 billion yuan for the erecting of a completed residential area accompanied by a commercial zone, kindergarten and social service center on the 61,800-square-meter land. 

A commercial complex integrating education, catering and entertainment functions will be built in Guankou town, Jimei district, aiming to enhance the area's business environment and enrich work opportunities for locals. The complex will cover a land area of 20,000 sq m, a construction area of 80,000 sq m and represent a total investment of 330 million yuan.
