Xiamen University (XMU) established an "Innovation Dreamworks" to support sci-tech innovation on Dec 17, attracting a number of representatives from the university and the government.

Zhang Rong, president of XMU, praised the establishment of the dreamworks and said that colleges and universities play an important role in promoting scientific research and technological innovation and are significant contributors to China's science and technology power strategy and innovation-driven development strategy.

The establishment of the dreamworks is expected to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship and help better commercialize scientific and research findings, according to Zhang.

Sun Zhang, vice-president of the China Technology Exchange (CTEX), noted that CTEX will work together with XMU to establish an exchange platform and promote scientific research projects.

Sun added that in the future, both sides will develop the Innovation Dreamworks of XMU into an important platform for the commercialization of scientific research findings, and offer more support to countries and regions that are a part of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
