Consumer goods sourcing fair sees 50b yuan in transactions

The four-day Fujian Consumer Goods Sourcing Fair and Commercial District (Pedestrian Street) Expo dropped its curtain on Dec 15 in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province. It generated a total of 50 billion yuan ($7.14 billion) in transactions, Chinanews reported on Dec 16.
The event, running from Dec 12 to 15, was attended by more than 560 enterprises covering a total exhibition area of 500,000 square meters. Around 20 activities, including forums, matchmaking activities, and promotional events, were hosted by a number of renowned firms, such as Alibaba, JD Digits, Meituan, and Amazon.
The expo proved successful in promoting trade and economic cooperation, and many large-scale enterprises reached cooperation intention agreements at the expo, according to Chen Ansheng, deputy director of the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce.
The expo revolved around promoting Fujian products and was meant to encourage consumption, expand domestic demand, and serve as a global platform for commercial and trade cooperation.
