The 2019 China (Xiamen) International Grain, Oils, Food and Equipment Technology Expo is scheduled to be hosted in Xiamen, in East China's Fujian province, from Dec 6 to 8, highlighting the remarkable achievements of China's grain industry in the new era.

Jointly hosted by the China National Association of the Grain Sector (CNAGS), and the Fujian Provincial Association of the Grain Sector, the expo occupies an exhibition area of more than 10,000 square meters, and consists of six main exhibition areas for grain and oil products, imported grain and oils, Taiwan food products, food and ingredients, grain machinery and equipment, and targeted poverty alleviation.

Featuring marketization, diversification and customization, the expo attracts hundreds of food enterprises from across the world, including some world-renowned grain dealers such as China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO), the country's biggest agricultural products supplier by revenue, and China Mengniu Dairy, one of China's largest dairy producers.

Ren Zhi, vice-president of CNAGS, said that Xiamen, with its advantages in location and transport, is a hub city of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and a bridgehead in cross-Straits cooperation. The holding of an international-level expo will help Xiamen fully integrate into the BRI, and promote the cooperation of the grain industry between the two sides of the Straits, as well as countries and regions involved in the BRI.
