A delegation from the Netherlands led by Hans Mayer, general secretary of the Zoetermeer-Xiamen Friendship Association, visited Xiamen in East China's Fujian province from Nov 25 to Dec 2.

Li Na, a senior inspector at Xiamen Foreign Affairs Office, met with the delegation on Nov 26 to explore ways of taking the opportunity of the 15th anniversary of sister-city relations between the two cities to further their cooperation in the economy, culture and tourism.

Both sides also discussed the visits of Xiamen students and teachers to the Netherlands next year and a business delegation led by Zoetermeer's top government officials to Xiamen, as well as the participation of Zoetermeer in the 2020 Xiamen International Leisure Travel Expo and the Xiamen International Teenager Camp Football Invitational.

The Dutch delegation also went with students and teachers from Zoetermeer's local middle school to experience calligraphy, brush painting and to learn how to speak Chinese at Xiamen Foreign Language School.

During their stay in Xiamen, the members of the delegation also visited the local bureau of culture and tourism, Jimei University, Xiamen Youth and Children's Palace and the local Seashine Group to seek cooperation with these institutions.
