Golden Rooster Awards brings outstanding films to Xiamen

In celebration of the 28th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, nearly 80 domestic and international films are being showcased in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province from Nov 15 to 23, offering audiences a feast for the eyes and ears.

Eighty outstanding films, selected from 30 countries and regions across the world, have been screening at some 10 cinemas in Xiamen, with more than 20 movies expected to hold press briefings to promote the films.

Organizers also hosted an international film exhibition with 27 movies being showcased, including Kazakhstan born, Russian schooled director Sergei Dvortsevoy's drama Ayka, which was shortlisted for the Palme d'Or award and won the Best Actress prize at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. Five domestically-made documentaries are also being shown for the first time during the annual event.

The ongoing film festival, which is China's most professional and authoritative film awards, will run from Nov 19 to 23, bringing Xiamen more opportunities for the development of its film and cultural industry.
