Forum held on development of China's film industry

A forum on the 28th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival commenced in the coastal city of Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on Nov 19. A number of the country's top film directors and industry leaders attended.

The forum, which revolved around "The Chinese Film Dream", focused on the development of China's film industry in the new era, and attendees discussed how to better promote innovation and produce higher-quality films.

In recent years, the Chinese film market has been developing rapidly, bringing in more than 60 billion yuan ($8.53 billion) at the box office last year. This year's National Day holiday saw 4.38 billion yuan in box office revenue, a 129 percent year-on-year increase and a record for that time period, according to the box office tracking and analyzing service Maoyan.
