The 12th International Animation Festival commenced in Xiamen, Fujian province on Nov 13 and will run until Nov 17.

The global event, featuring an exhibition area of 40,000 square meters, attracted more than 500 enterprises from 18 countries and regions. Various activities, including ACG (animation, comics, and games) exhibitions, forums, signing ceremonies, and competitions will be held at the event, propelling the development of the city's ACG industry.

In addition, the award ceremony for the "Cyber Sousa", one of the most authoritative animation competitions in China, will be held at the festival on Nov 15. The competition received more than 3,000 submissions from 54 countries and regions. The ceremony will be broadcast live on five TV stations and video websites.

This year's animation festival, centered on the Belt and Road Initiative, was meant to serve as a communication platform for animation companies to explore development trends in the industry.
