A three-member delegation from the municipal bureau of convention and exhibition in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province attended the 86th Global Conference of Global Association of the Exhibition industry (UFI) on Nov 6-9 in Thailand.

The Xiamen delegation visited more than 20 MICE industry management and promotion agencies from different countries, including the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau, sponsor of the 86th UFI Global Conference, Oman Convention & Exhibition Bureau, sponsor of the next edition of UFI Global Conference, and Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organizers & Suppliers.

The delegation members also visited participating exhibition companies, such as JEC from France, Messe from Germany, Tokyo Big Sight from Japan and AMR International from the United Kingdom.

UFI is the most important international organization in global MICE industry and its core task is to authenticate international exhibitions. Exhibitions approved by UFI mean they are high quality. In 2005, the annual investment event CIFIT held in Xiamen obtained certification from UFI.

The 86th UFI Global Conference was attended by roughly 550 experts in MICE industry from 50 countries.
