Xiamen launches 144-hour visa-free transit tourist card for foreigners

The Xiamen 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit Tourist Card was officially launched on Nov 1, according to the local culture and tourism bureau.
Foreigners arriving in Xiamen for entry into China in accordance with the 144-hour visa-free transit policy can apply for the card, which is valid for 144 hours after being activated. The card allows foreigners to receive discounts offered by 50 designated commercial tenants and enjoy free tickets for 17 scenic areas and for buses, BRT, subways, and ferries in Xiamen.
Xiamen has seen an increase in the number of travelers from 33 countries and regions since it began offering 144-hour visa-free transit early this year. The 53 countries eligible for visa-free transit include the United States, Russia, Austria, Germany, Singapore, and South Korea.
