Cross-Straits cultural industries fair opens in Xiamen

The 12th Cross-Straits (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair kicked off in Xiamen, East China's Fujian Province on Nov 1, local media reported.
With an exhibition area of 75,000 square meters, this year's fair set up 3,512 booths, including 898 booths for Taiwan exhibitors, in 12 exhibition areas focusing on renowned cultural companies, handicrafts, innovative design, culturally creative tourism products and digital films.
Thirty-six activities will be held during the fair, including various forums, matchmaking meetings, promotional events and signing ceremonies.
The fair also established 28 sub-venues and plans to organize 141 various other activities in the upcoming three days in the city's six districts.
Guest cities from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan are the highlight of this year's fair. Ningbo in Zhejiang province and Taichung in Taiwan were invited to set up pavilions at the fair to showcase their unique resources, key industrial projects, industrial development, and local cultures.
As Xiamen will host the 28th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival on Nov 19, the Xiamen Film and Television Industry pavilion was added to the fair to introduce the film and TV industry development policies in the city and display its achievements in the sector.
