Xiamen in East China's Fujian province launched a new app called "iXiamen" for dealing with government processes, Xiamen Daily reported on Oct 29.

The new app will provide 35 different services related to government and personal affairs, such as appointments, accumulation funds, social insurance, transportation, education, and weather reports. It will help build a unified government affairs platform for the convenience of Xiamen residents.

The "Internet+" system has contributed significantly to the innovative development of government processes. The "iXiamen" app is comprehensive and easy to operate, and people can use it to deal with various daily tasks, such as applying for residence permits, applying for admission to schools, and inquiring about flight and ferry tickets.

According to Tong Pingping, chief engineer of the Xiamen municipal bureau of industry and information technology, the new app is expected to play an active role in promoting the development of Fujian's e-government.
