The 2019 Xiamen International Kite Festival is set to be held in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province from Nov 1-7, with more than 300,000 kite enthusiasts expected to participate.
The festival, which takes place during the 2019 World Ocean Week, has been held annually in Xiamen since 2008. This year's event, themed around the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), will display a variety of kites from BRI countries and pay tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
