A three-day training course for high-tech business incubators kicked off in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on Oct 29.

The course was hosted by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology and gathered more than 220 entrepreneurs, investors, industrial experts and scholars, and heads of national science and technology business incubators from across the country. They discussed the high-quality development of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.

Sponsors chose Xiamen as the host city for the event due to its business climate conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship. Over the years, the Xiamen Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone has made great efforts to cultivate high-tech and high value-added enterprises, and has explored a new development model for business incubation and integrated innovation. The zone is now home to 18 national maker spaces.
