A group of 70 Taiwan residents had their Taiwan-issued job skill certificates recognized by Fujian province for the first time, Fuzhou Evening News reported on Oct 29.

The policy was implemented by the Fujian Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. It allows Taiwan certificate holders in over 20 fields to receive their corresponding national certificates without having to go through the review process.

Fujian – the closest province to Taiwan – made the decision in order to seek more common ground in vocational training and make Fujian a more appealing choice for Taiwan residents looking to sharpen their skills and start up their own businesses.

Statistics from the Fujian Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security showed that over the past 10 years, a total of 4,393 Taiwan residents have traveled across the Straits to receive their national certificates in 26 categories, including enterprise human resource management, psychological counseling, and financial planning.
