Hao Qingxiang, a well-known time-honored brand in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, has a history of more than 100 years.
In 1904, Wang Chaoji opened a restaurant selling local Minnan specialties such as steamed taro buns, misua paste, and hot meat dumplings filled with specially-made streaky pork, mushrooms, shrimp meat, and dried oyster. This eventually transformed into the Hao Qingxiang Restaurant you see today, and hot meat dumplings have become the restaurant's signature dish, offering a taste of home for overseas Chinese living in Southeast Asia.
