Xiamen Uni Science Park opens

Unisplendour Science Park in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province opened to the public on Oct 18.

Unisplendour Science Park was founded by Unisplendour Corporation, a leading company in China's integrated circuit industry, with an investment of 4 billion yuan ($565.25 million).

The science park, which has a floor area of 190,000 square meters and a covered area of 400,000 square meters, is expected to become a center for hi-tech industry integrating research, industry incubation and product display.

The park receives capital, technology and talents from Unisplendour Corporation and will help the Tsinghua Straits Research Institute in Xiamen construct into a complete service platform for scientific and technological innovation.

At the opening ceremony, a total of 12 companies announced that they would set up operations in the science park, including New H3C Technologies Co and UNISOC, a core subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup.

Hu Li, general manager of Unisplendour Science Park, said that all 12 companies boast advanced technology, high growth and high added value.

Take UNISOC for example. The amount of mobile phone chips the company ships surpasses its competitors in China and ranks third in the world, added Hu.

In addition to attracting high tech companies, the science park also introduced five service platforms to better serve its companies, including an IoT association, an equity service center and a management consultancy office.
