42b-yuan spent on projects in Xiamen from January-September

Eighty-eight key provincial projects in Xiamen, a city in East China's Fujian province, received 42 billion yuan ($5.94 billion) in investment in the first three quarters of this year, surpassing the target of 4.36 billion yuan, according to official data.
A total of 1.07 billion yuan in public projects have either been completed or are ahead of schedule, accounting for 94 percent of the annual target. A total of 37 key provincial industrial projects currently underway received 13.11 billion yuan in investment, accounting for 82.8 percent of the annual target. Twenty-seven projects, including the Xiamen Torch Xinke Square and the Xiamen University National Science Park, have surpassed the annual investment goal.
