On Oct 10, China Unicom and China Telecom jointly established Fujian's first 5G sharing station in Xiamen, indicating that the two companies have entered a new stage of network construction.
The 5G sharing station was built over the previous one and can provide 5G signals to users in areas covered by China Unicom without any interference from China Telecom.
The push by the two telecommunications giants to build a 5G sharing station is expected to accelerate large-scale commercial use of 5G technology in Xiamen, which will greatly reduce operational, maintenance, and network construction costs. It will also help the city achieve full 5G coverage and strengthen its competitiveness in 5G services.
