Private enterprises drive industrial development in Xiamen

Private enterprises in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, reported stable economic growth in the past three quarters of this year, particularly in communication devices, electronic information, and biomedicine, according to statistics recently released by the government.

In recent years, the company has been increasing investment in research and development to develop its core technologies among a host of uncertainties in global trade, with its sales revenue recording an increase of 15 to 25 percent year on year. This year, the company has been focusing on expanding the domestic market and diversifying.
Xiamen-based company Yealink, which specializes in video conferences, voice communications, and collaboration solutions, is expected to earn a total of 1.78 billion yuan ($251.75 million) in the first three quarters of the year, a year-on-year increase of 35 percent.
Xiamen plans to prioritize the development of flexible electronics, which ranked at the top of Xiamen's 10 future industries. A complete flexible electronics industrial chain, including the research and development of new materials and equipment manufacturing, is expected to take shape in the city, and the city will work to nurture enterprises with an output value of more than 10 billion yuan.
