Xiamen in East China's Fujian province has launched a "two-step customs declaration" pilot reform, aiming to streamline customs clearance, according to a news conference hosted by Xiamen Customs on Oct 9.

The "two-step customs declaration" model was listed among the 10 concrete measures to reduce clearance time by the State Council in June this year, which will greatly ease pressure on ports and increase customs clearance efficiency.

The new model will optimize clearance processes to raise efficiency, enhance port informatization, and lower port charges.
