Xiamen animation festival draws global participants

The preliminary assessment for the 2019 Xiamen International Animation Festival "Cyber Sousa" Award came to a conclusion on Sept 23, according to the organizers.
A group of 12 big names in the animation industry from across the world gathered in Xiamen and judged 3,116 entries.
According to the organizing committee of the animation festival, the "Cyber Sousa" Award involves 11 awards, with a total prize pool worth 2.01 million yuan ($282,800).
Since the contest opened for registration in June, it has attracted extensive attention from people in the animation industry at home and abroad.
During the preliminary stage, a total of 3,116 works were received from 54 countries and regions.
Additionally, in order to promote the exchange and development of the cross-Straits animation industry, the organizing committee especially designed the "Straits Star" award for participants from Fujian province and Taiwan.
The awards ceremony will be held during the animation festival on Nov 15, after the public announcement, political examination and final evaluation.
