Four bridges and one tunnel have made it easier to travel between Xiamen Island and outside areas. One additional bridge and tunnel are currently under construction. The Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge is also in the works. High-speed railways connecting Xiamen with Fuzhou, Longyan and Shenzhen have begun operations.
