The Xiamen-Central Asia freight rail service recently carried goods from four countries in one train for the first time.

Five containers from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia arrived at Xiamen port Sept 16 and the next day took the Xiamen-Central Asia freight train to cities in Kazakhstan.

Xiamen customs departments cooperated closely for this transit, according to an official from Xiamen customs. Various transit supervision procedures were handled smoothly on the containers' arrival, ensuring that the goods were delivered on time.

Since Xiamen-Central Asia freight rail service began operations in August 2015, Xiamen customs has supervised 104 freight trains and 3,770 40-foot containers, with import and export value of about 1.4 billion yuan ($197.6 million).
