The Royal Thai Consulate General in Xiamen, in East China's Fujian province, recently held a promotion conference for the Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in the city.
Officials said that China and Thailand also exchanged views on the digital industry, including geographic information science and big data satellite monitoring, during the conference.
With a total area of more than 13,000 square kilometers and a population of nearly 3 million, the EEC is Thailand's only national special economic zone.
According to a Thailand official, the EEC is highly consistent with China's Belt and Road initiative. Chinese companies have invested more than 60 billion baht ($1.96 billion) in the EEC to date.
