During the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the coastal city of Xiamen in eastern Fujian province received a total of 1,041,700 tourists from home and abroad. Tourist revenue reached 896 million yuan ($126.65 million), up 17.5 percent year-on-year, local media reported.
Coastal tourism remains the backbone of the city's holiday tourism, officials said.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday this year, the most popular ways for tourists to spend their holiday was enjoying the beautiful coastal scenery, experiencing the unique local customs and tasting the delicious seafood.
Additionally, night tourism has gradually become an important way for tourists to deeply experience the local culture and local life in Xiamen.
Officials say tourists have become more and more interested in night cruises, fireworks and other night-tour products.
