Xiamen in East China's Fujian province signed a strategic cooperation agreement with New Hope Group on Sept 8 attended by Hu Changsheng, Party secretary of Xiamen and Zhuang Jiahan, mayor of Xiamen.

New Hope Group is one of the top 500 companies in China. Based on the agriculture and animal husbandry industry, the company has constantly branched out into new industries and sectors -- from feed production to agricultural technology, food processing, real estate and tourism.

According to the agreement, New Hope Group will build a regional headquarters in Xiamen, responsible for investment and development of the company's various industry sectors in Fujian.

Additionally, the company will cooperate with Xiamen in modern agriculture, culture and tourism and improving the ecological environment among other areas.

At present, Xiamen is striving to meet the requirements of modernization and internationalization -- and strengthening efforts to cultivate and attract world-class modern companies, according to Xiamen officials.
