The first Belt and Road Agricultural Products and Materials EBusiness Trading Fair kicked off in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province on Sept 8, and will last for three days.
Thirty-five international organizations from 33 countries and regions, more than 300 enterprises, and a number of distinguished guests attended the fair.
Occupying an area of 8,200 square meters, the pavilion houses five exhibition areas which showcase the latest agricultural products and achievements of countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
A wide range of distinctive agricultural products and materials from BRI countries were displayed, and contracts for 24 agricultural-related projects worth more than 25 billion yuan ($3.51 billion) were signed at the fair.
At the same time, the Summit of the Forum on BRI Agricultural Products and Materials Investment and Cooperation was held at the fair, focusing on innovative development and win-win cooperation. Organizers of the forum aim to set up an innovative platform featuring agricultural products and materials and optimize the agricultural industrial chain.
In addition, an initiative was proposed to deepen agricultural cooperation and promote the sustainable agricultural development among BRI countries. A cooperation alliance will also be built to strengthen e-commerce cooperation between China and BRI countries.
