Fujian Party secretary meets Serbian deputy prime minister

Yu Weiguo, Party secretary of Fujian province, met with Rasim Ljajic, deputy prime minister of Serbia, on Sept 7, the day before the 2019 CIFIT kicked off.
Yu told the Serbian delegation he hoped for improvements to the already strong relations that exist between both sides.
He said that China and Serbia enjoyed a long history of friendship, adding that he envisaged their current trip to China would further enhance their traditional ties, extend business relations and expand other areas of cooperation.
Yu stressed Fujian would make full use of the international investment fair to strengthen exchanges with Serbia in trade, establishing sister cities, as well as in culture, education and tourism and promote the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
In return, Ljajic noted that the BRI made Serbia a close partner of China and Serbia would actively participate in the expansion of the initiative.
He said that as the 2019 CIFIT’s guest country of honor, the delegation from Serbia would maintain active communications with other participants to seek business opportunities and bring more benefits to the peoples of both countries.
Ljajic added that his government and countrymen were glad to see increasingly more Fujian-based companies coming to invest in Serbia with the help of the BRI and it would instill new vitality into his country’s economy.
