China has made great contributions to the promotion of global trade and investment, said Carlos Gutiérrez, Former U S Commerce Secretary, at an interview during the 2019 CIFIT on Sept 8.
Carlos noted that China is continuing to open up more sectors to the outside world and its measures to facilitate trade have brought more opportunities to global investors.
He stressed that China and the United States, the world's two largest economies, should work together instead of against each other.
The tense trade situation between the two countries has not only negatively impacted their own economies, but that of the entire world.
He expects that stability will be restored after a series of bilateral trade negotiations regarding China-US trade and economic disputes.
