The 2019 China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) and the Belt & Road Investment Conference (BRIC) will take place at the eastern coastal city of Xiamen on Sept 8.

Announced at a press conference on Friday, the event aims to boost bilateral investment and the integration of international capital and projects.

Han Jingyi, deputy mayor of Xiamen, said the four-day event is expected to attract 100,000 merchants and 3,000 enterprises from over 120 countries and regions. He added that a debut forum focusing on the international cooperation on marine transport along the Silk Road will take place in a 2,000-square-meter pavilion, inviting world-renowned port representatives, ship owners and logistics enterprises to share their perspectives on developing convenient port customs clearance, sea-railway combined transportation and intelligent logistics.

The press conference also welcomed West China's Shanxi as guest province of honor for the 2019 and 2020 CIFITs. A delegation led by Shanxi Provincial Governor Lou Yangsheng will attend the event, and an array of business-matchmaking activities will be held, sharing the province's dedication to transformation and upgrading.
