The International Investment Forum -- a key event of the 2019 China International Fair for Investment and Trade, or CIFIT, to be held in Xiamen, Fujian province -- will focus on investment facilitation in China, according to the event's management committee.
Senior officials from the Fujian provincial government, foreign dignitaries, leading academics and entrepreneurs are expected to attend.
They will share their insights into the investment environment in China, in the wake of the country's lowering of its foreign investment threshold to open up more financial service sectors to foreign investors.
The 2019 edition of CIFIT will highlight the Belt and Road Initiative by organizing more than 10 related forums to promote the construction of a green, prosperous, and peaceful Silk Road.
To date, roughly 600 delegations have confirmed their attendance at the 2019 CIFIT, including the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and a further 3,000 companies, including over 100 multinational corporations and Fortune 500 firms, will attend the event.
Last year the fair facilitated the signing of 1,982 investment projects worth 527.5 billion yuan ($78.59 billion) and drew the attendance of more than 120,000 representatives from 1,005 industrial and commercial associations.
Nearly 5,000 companies representing 128 countries and regions also attended.
