Young Japanese politicians visit Xiamen

Chen Qiuxiong, deputy Party secretary of Xiamen, eastern Fujian province, met with a delegation of young Japanese politicians on Aug 21.
It is the first time that the Japanese politicians have visited Xiamen, although it is their seventh visit to China.
Chen extended a warm welcome to the Japanese delegation and introduced Xiamen's economic and social development.
He said that the city enjoys steady development, a pleasant environment and a friendly culture.
He added that, since China's reform and opening up in the 1970s, Xiamen and Japan have maintained strong cooperation in terms of talent, economy, culture, tourism, and education, and a number of Japanese-funded companies in Xiamen have made tremendous contributions to the city's development with their strong R&D ability and considerable operating revenue.
He hopes to continue with this tradition of exchange and cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Members of the Japanese delegation also expressed hope to further cooperation between the two countries and promote the construction of an international demonstration zone for China-Japan cooperation under the BRI.
During their stay in Xiamen, the Japanese delegation also visited the local OGAWA Inc, a renowned intelligent health products supplier in China.
