A group of 241 "labor union lounges" sponsored by the financial organizations in Xiamen, Fujian province opened to offer services for outdoor workers on Aug 21, according to local report.

The lounges, designed for outdoor laborers including sanitation workers and deliverymen, add a touch of warmth to the coastal city.

Signs have been hung conspicuously at each individual lounge, where tables and chairs, cellphone chargers, microwave ovens, first-aid kits are available.

In addition, the lounges are working "gas stations" for outdoor workers because they offer a place to cool down and take a rest after working outdoors for long periods in the summer.

Under the guidance of the lounge staffs, many outdoor workers smile as they try out the available services.

Extended coverage and an increasing number of lounges are on the way to demonstrate the city's concern for the outdoor workers.
