A night market opened to the public in Xiamen, Fujian province on Aug 17 for residents and peddlers from Fujian and Taiwan.

Located at the Leisure Square in Huli district, the market will be open from 4:00 pm to 9:30 pm each Saturday.

A total of 150 free stalls are provided to peddlers. Visitors can buy products including plants, pets, snacks, calligraphy works and paintings.

According to Men Xiaoyu, general manager of the Leisure Square, it is expected to become the most influential market in Fujian and Taiwan. Through a combination of ornamental plants, aquarium fish and entertainment, the comprehensive market demonstrates the benefits of urban agriculture.
