The Hurun Report, best known for its "Hurun China Rich List", plans to release the global unicorn list during the 2019 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen, Fujian province.

With CIFIT running from Sept 8 to 11, the press conference will also invite Rupert Hoogewerf, president of the Hurun Report; godfather of Silicon Valley venture investments Steve Hoffman, and other renowned businessmen, to deliver keynote speeches.

In the venture capital industry, a unicorn refers to any tech startup that reaches a $1 billion dollar market value as determined by private or public investment.
