The famous French musical -- La Vie en Rose -- will be staged at Xiamen Cangjiang Theater, in East China's Fujian province, on Aug 24-25.

The musical tells the story of the inimitable chanteuse Edith Piaf's emergence from obscurity to become a globally renowned singing star, through a series of classic songs and a number of rare and never-before-seen videos.

Since its premiere, the musical has been performed more than 300 times in over 50 countries and regions. This is the first time La Vie en Rose has ever been staged in Xiamen.

In the first half of this year, Cangjiang Theater has staged many classic plays, including some introduced from the Berliner Theatertreffen, France's Festival d'Avignon and the Edinburgh Arts Festival.
