Xiamen, a coastal city in Fujian province, plans to build a massive 50,000-square meter film and television studio complex. The facility is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2020.

The studio will feature an investment promotion center, a major filming studio, a support services building, a virtual studio and an outdoor scene area.

According to some industry insiders, although Xiamen has a beautiful environment, it has always been lacking a professional and comprehensive studio facility. The new complex may fill the gap.

Xiamen has always been known as a "natural studio". Since 2015, there have been more than 350 film and TV crews shooting in and around Xiamen, promoting the integrated development of the culture and tourism industry.

In addition, in accordance with the development goal of "building an international film city", Xiamen has issued special policies for the film and TV industry at the municipal and district levels.
