Liu Si, 55, a teacher from Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, started her second trip to serve as a voluntary teacher in Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region on Aug 7.

She and another teacher from Xiamen are members of a voluntary teacher group of 20 people from Fujian, who will support education in Tibet for three years.

During Liu's first voluntary stay in Tibet from 2016 to 2018, she served as a senior official at the local education bureau and also as a computer science teacher.

"You can't imagine how fascinated those students were about the computer," she said when remembering her first volunteer stay in Tibet.

After Liu returned to Xiamen, she was determined to serve Tibet if there was another chance.

When the second chance came, Liu was beyond the age limit of 45 years old.

In order to prove she can perfectly adapt to the plateau environment, she offered a health condition certificate to the local education authority.

"I just want to give classes and stay with my students," she said when talking about why she longed to teach in Tibet again.

This time, the teachers will work at a middle school in Kharub district, which is one of the high quality schools in Chamdo city. With advanced teaching methods, they hope to enhance the teaching quality of the school.

The selected teachers are all professional and passionate about devoting themselves to Tibet's education industry. It is expected to strengthen the exchange between Fujian and Tibet, as well as promote national unity.
