Xiamen launches IP research institute for cross-Straits enterprises

A scientific research institute focusing on cross-Straits intellectual property (IP) protection and applications was launched in Xiamen, in eastern Fujian province, on Aug 8.
The research body was jointly established by Xiamen University of Technology and a local IP rights and technology service platform.
With the integration of industry, education and research, and relying on the foundation of IP research at Xiamen University of Technology, the institute strives to become an exchange platform for IP research from both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
According to officials, the institute will connect the IP supply and demand sides and provide online IP protection, operations and financing services for cross-Straits enterprises.
