Xiamen-based Meiya Pico Information Co and the Third Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the company's headquarters on Aug 8.
A total of 17 attendees witnessed the signing. The agreement will establish digital forensics standards in public security, aiming to improve forensics-related technology and promote the innovation and application of cyber-security technology.
The Third Institute is the scientific research body of the Ministry of Public Security. It has advanced research channels and highly competitive personnel. Meiya Pico, a Xiamen-based company founded over 20 years ago, has grown into China's largest provider of digital forensics, serving law-enforcement and government organizations all around the world.
"Protecting information has become increasingly necessary, and crime monitoring and post-crime investigations are of particular importance," said company president Teng Da in an interview with China Daily last year.
